In the plan area Amstel III in Amsterdam Zuidoost a campus area is developed with approximately 1500 apartments and other functions.
It concerns the demolition of the vacant offices building Holendrecht Centre and the redevelopment of this location and immediate surroundings to a multifunctional living- and working area focused on young professionals, students and youth.
The project will join in functional and urban the railway- and underground station Holendrecht, AMC hospital, the adjacent offices and the student residence Bluegray. This will further strengthened the health cluster in this area
Target groups for the yet to develop homes and facilities are among others students and employees of the AMC hospital.
The public space in this area will get a high quality residence function and will form a natural access to and from the station.
Urban planner and architect of this project is OZ architects and Van Rossum is main structural engineer.
The total area Amstel III is approximately 250 acres and consists of an offices zone with 720,000 m2 gross offices surface and an companies zone.
There will now be a gradual transformation from a mono functional working area to a mixed (high) urban working- and living area in the offices zone, and a mixed working area in the companies zone.
The municipality has adapted, to do this, the zoning plan in 2014, so now also catering, retail and hotels may establish themselves in this area.
Amstel III is located between shopping and entertainment centre ArenaPoort, the AMC hospital, railway line Amsterdam-Utrecht and the highway A2.
