Van Rossum has been ISO certified since 2002. After many years of working from our internal project approach, the quality of our advice work and the ratio of union employees has increased, and is broadly supported throughout our company.
We regularly have meetings between structural engineers and draughtsmen in which knowledge is shared through lectures from third parties or through work visits. This has allowed the quality at Van Rossum to keep up with developments in the field. BIM plays a central role in our operational processes. That goes for planning, cost limitations and guiding integrally working design teams.
Quality is one of the cornerstones of our agency. Between 70% and 80% of our projects are follow-up projects from regular clients. This result is of course only possible due to our constant attention to quality, resourcefulness, creativity and good communications with all parties involved.
We organise and monitor all operations carried out by our agency using an internal quality system. All agreements made with clients regarding quality are recorded in our own developed ‘Handbook for Quality Assurance’. The system is based on the guidelines set in ‘NEN en ISO 9001/2008 adviseren en ontwerpen inzake bouwconstructies’ [NEN and ISO 9001/2008 advice and design in construction].
In every project, a project file is made in which all detailed project information is kept. Within our organisation, we call this file ‘the project plan’. The project plan is drawn up under the supervision of the Senior Adviser of the internal project team. All relevant information relating to the project is recorded in it, so that the entire project team is completely up to date on the latest developments at all times.
